New Cell Phone Policy
Happy New School Year!
I want to congratulate all students and families on a successful first five days. I know many of us were unsure of how the new Yondr pouch system for cell phones would work for all those involved. After the first three days of use, I can report that we went from multiple daily incidents of phone use last year to a record ZERO issues with cell phone distractions in the learning environment. This has already made a world of difference to our students and faculty. We are grateful and thank everyone for their cooperation and communication around this process. I look forward to getting to know our students and their families even better now that we have more time to address other needs in a variety of ways throughout the school day. As a reminder, tablets, watches, and game consoles do not fit in the Yondr pouches, but are still not allowed to be in use at school from "bell to bell." We are working to ensure that all students have access to laptops to do work on computers when helpful or necessary. If you missed some of the scholarly articles we included in last week's newsletter about the why behind this policy and would like to discuss Kreiva electronics procedures and/or NH state law further, please email me, and I will address any outstanding questions about this change.
