April 21, 2020 Update
Kreiva Families,
I hope everyone is doing well and maintaining both health and sanity through altered life we find ourselves in. As we seemingly have found the new rhythms of school in this corona era, we continue to figure out the new norm on the homefront and how to balance school and home while trying to run everything all in the same space. Sometimes that can provide an amusing mix of the occasional dogs interrupting Zoom calls, our own children peeping in the background of our videos and a new standard for being "dressed for work" that usually involves at least one of these items(sweatpants, pajama bottoms, shorts or t-shirt). I think the keyword in all of this continues to be flexibility.
Despite all the challenges of the last 5 weeks, I continue to be amazed by and extremely proud of our staff. They constantly step up in countless ways to make the necessary adjustments in providing a relatively seamless educational experience and sense of connection for our students. In turn it has been amazing watching some of our students similarly step up and demonstrate flexibility, resilience and determination not previously witnessed. When things go back to "normal" I suspect the lessons learned from this experience will serve all of us well into the future.
Reminders:
Quarter 3 Report Cards are set out to go out electronically this weekend and will be accessible via Teacherease. Please keep an eye out for them.
Next week is "Spring Break." While I am not sure that any of us will have much ability to break away from our current existence, I do hope everyone finds new and inventive ways to step away and recharge your batteries. Take care and be well.
Tal Bayer
